Crystal Palace v Brentford 26th January: Premier League Preview
South meets West as Oliver Glasner’s Crystal Palace look to stretch their five-game unbeaten run in the Premier League as they host fellow London club Brentford at Selhurst Park on Sunday afternoon.
Palace have turned a corner so far in 2025, winning away at the King Power and London Stadium over Leicester and West Ham, both by a two-goal margin.
The resurgence in Jean-Phillipe Mateta has made a difference as the Frenchman has bagged four goals in his last three matches.
Thomas Frank’s side have suffered an indifferent start to the year, claiming a point versus Manchester City and a thumping 5-0 win over bottom club Southampton.
Defeats against the top two in the form of Liverpool and Arsenal have not helped Brentford, enduring a run of just one win in seven.
An eagerly anticipated meeting between the sides awaits as only one point and one place separates the Bees and the Eagles.
Previous Meetings
Games between these two sides are hard to separate with five of the last seven meetings ending in a draw, three of these finishing 1-1.
However, Brentford won on the opening day with Bryan Mbeumo and Yoane Wissa getting on the scoresheet before Ethan Pinnock’s own goal gave Palace a route back into the game, with the score finishing 2-1 in favour of the Bees.
Although, the last fixture between the two at Selhurst went in favour of the Eagles as they came from a goal down to win 3-1. An Eberechi Eze goal and a Michael Olise brace gave Palace, then managed by Roy Hodgson, a first Premier League win over Brentford.
